Olivier Fabrice Ochanine (born September 7, 1979) is a French conductor and flautist; he is the Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO), the national orchestra of the Philippines.〔(), Cultural Center of the Philippines.〕 Ochanine holds a master's degree in Conducting from the University of Southern California and is currently studying for a Doctorate in Orchestral Conducting, at the Cincinnati College - Conservatory of Music. == Professional career ==
Since 2010, Ochanine has brought about various premieres of works including, amongst others, Carl Nielsen's Symphony No. 4 and Aladdin Suite, Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances, Honegger's Pastorale d'Eté, Bartok's Two Pictures, and Dvorak's Czech Suite. Ochanine has also been credited for greatly improving the level of the PPO's playing.〔(), Review in Philippine Star by Rosalinda Orosa.〕 Under him, the PPO has made its first recording in over a decade.
